Friends of St Aidan

A group of people for whom St Aidan's Church and churchyard hold a special place in their hearts. Some will live nearby; others visit once in a lifetime; for others it is a venue for holidays and renewal year by year. For some it may be a place of memories of marriages, baptisms or of loved ones buried in the churchyard. But for all it is a special place with which they would wish to be associated. Our aim is to help maintain the Church and its churchyard for future generations whilst keeping memories alive.

Benefice - Bamburgh, Belford and Lucker

We are a Benefice of three churches : St Aidan’s Bamburgh, St Mary’s Belford and St Hilda’s Lucker. All three churches have very different characters.

We share one vicar, Revd Louise Taylor-Kenyon, and two additional priests, Revd Phyl Carruthers and Revd Paul Knox.

We offer weekly Communion in all our churches as well as a number of other acts of worship weekly and monthly as well as other opportunities to gather together.

Safeguarding

The parish of St Aidan's, Bamburgh is committed to the safeguarding of children, young people and adults. We follow the House of Bishops guidance and policies and have our own Parish Safeguarding Officer (PSO), Sheila Summers (01668 214180).

The Diocese of Newcastle’s safeguarding pages contain vital links and information including contacts for the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor (DSA), Carol Butler (07825 167016 or email c.butler@newcastle.anglican.org) who advises our PSO.

If you are concerned that a child or adult has been harmed or may be at risk of harm please contact the DSA, contact details above.  However, if you have immediate concerns about the safety of someone, please contact the police and your local authority Children or Adults Services.  In Northumberland this will be OneCall on 01670 536400.
